FEATURED WINE2003 EdieThe fruit was hand selected by Benoit Grignon, formerly of Chateau Suduiraut (first growth Sauternes). It was harvested late with Botrytis at 36º Brix, then pressed very slowly for 9 hours, as in Sauternes. It was barrel fermented and aged in very special light toasted acacia wood barrels for over 3 years. It was then bottle aged for 6 months prior to release in January 2008.
Honeysuckle, figs, and apricots with a hint of pie crust in the nose. Fruit and cream on entry. Smooth and elegant throughout. Expands in the center. Very intense, full, and rich with a neat
fruit note. This wine builds all the way through to the long, clean finish.
